The man with the longest tongue in the world, curved through the roof of his mouth into the nasal cavity

The robotics student is currently practicing touching his eyelids with his tongue, a feat he feels will greatly improve his chances of getting his name into the Guinness Book of Records.

K Praveen - a 21-year-old man from Thiruthangal in Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu is the owner of a 10.8 cm long tongue, according to the Indian Book of Records.

According to the University of Edinburgh, the average male's tongue is about 8.5cm long, which means K Praveen's tongue is 2.3cm longer than average and probably the longest in the world.

The young robotics student has known his tongue is longer than usual since he started showing friends and family he can do special things with it.

He can use his tongue to touch the tip of his nose and elbow and almost touch his eyes.

However, K Praveen has not been able to have his tongue officially measured by Guinness World Records, but he has made his name in India's own Limca Book of Records, for having the longest tongue in the country.

A few years ago, Praveen made his name in the Asian Book of Records for touching his nose with his tongue 219 times in one minute.

Apparently, he also trained himself to do the controversial exercise of inserting his giant tongue through the roof of his mouth into the nasal cavity. He calls it the 'invisible tongue' trick.

The Guinness World Record for the longest tongue currently belongs to Nick Stoeberl, of Salinas, California with an official length of 10.1 cm. It is 0.7cm shorter than K Praveen.

The Indian student now plans to accumulate money and approach the international record organization to be officially recognized.

"Although my achievements have been recognized in India, I am always looking to bring my talents to the world.

This could be possible if only the Tamil Nadu government had given me aid, as I cannot display my record globally, due to lack of financial support,' Praveen said.
