Archaeologists in Jordan, led by Professor David Kennedy from the University of Western Australia, took high-resolution photos of all 11 giant stone circles in the Middle East, one of them having a diameter up. to 400m. The structure of these circles is oddly similar.

Livescience said the circles were built with low stone walls, because they had no doors so people would have to jump over the wall to get inside.

By analyzing satellite images as well as objects collected on the ground, the researchers found these stone circles dating back at least 2,000 years, and may be longer. They can even be built in prehistoric times, before humans invented writing.

Although the aircraft discovered the first stone circle in the 1920s, there is very little research focused on analyzing the structure of circles, even many scientists are unaware of existence. at theirs.

After taking a picture, the team identified another circle in Jordan that didn't seem to have been completed yet. Old satellite imagery also shows that two circles, one in Jordan and one in Syria, have been destroyed in the past few decades.

"The purpose of building a giant stone circle is still a mystery. It is very unlikely that they will be used as a grazing ground because the walls are not high, the circles do not contain a help structure Maintaining a flock of animals and livestock houses doesn't need such a round shape exactly, " Kennedy said.
