The mysterious giant monster washed up on the coast of Africa
Scientists cannot determine the origin of the mysterious sea creature that drifted to the beach in Namibia.
Mysterious creature about 6 meters long was discovered floating on the beach in Dorob National Park, Namibia. It has the appearance of both whales and dolphins, but heavy decomposition makes it difficult for scientists to determine the origin of the strange creature.
The team believes that this creature is Cuvier's bighead whale.
Scientists initially said that they could not determine what kind of creature it was, but then some experts speculated that it could be a biting Cuvier whale.
"The corpses of strange organisms are at the end of the decomposition process, making it difficult to determine its origin," said Dr. Simon Elwen of the Namibia dolphin research project. 'But based on the shape of the head and nose, the team believes that this creature is Cuvier ' s muzzle ' whale .
Cuvier bighead whale has a torpedo-like body, sloping forehead, short beak and curved mouth. They often live in deep waters from the tropics to temperate regions.
Cuvier bighead whale fish can grow up to 7m long and weigh 2,500 kg. There are about 100,000 individuals of this species living in marine areas around the world.
