The natural explanation of an unidentified flying object

Mysterious images of unidentified flying objects may be closely related to a spooky natural phenomenon that gleams above the atmosphere caused by thunderstorms.

Dancing lights appeared above most of the storms throughout the history process, but researchers only actually studied them after once accidentally recording this image with a camera in the year. 1989.

Colin Price, a geophysicist at Tel Aviv University in Israel, said: "Light from the storms with lightning triggered the electric field above, producing a flash of light called a sprite -" love monster " . Now we know that only a certain type of light can stimulate the formation of ghosts above. '

Researchers have recently discovered light flashes about 35 to 80 miles (56-129 km) from the ground, and lie on the place where light usually appears about 7 to 10 miles (11-16 km). Sprite can appear as fast-paced electric spheres, although previous footage has shown that it has stripes or fringes.

The cause or function of these flashes has yet to be found, but Price says they can explain some of the UFO phenomena that have been around for years. This can bring some comfort to those who are interested in UFOs but are frustrated by human pranks in the past.

Both the jet pilot and the previous astronaut reported that they saw the sprite, along with another but also mysterious phenomenon that is green.

Price and colleagues focused on winter sprite only appearing in the northern hemisphere in the winter months. The remote control cameras placed on the roof can capture images of thunderstorms producing 'monsters' at the Mediterranean Sea.

Triangulation techniques also allow researchers to calculate the dimension of 'monster love'.

'Candle lights in sprite are as high as 15 miles, and the cluster of candles can reach a width of 45 miles. It looks like a huge birthday party, ' Price said.

Sprite may have some effect on the Earth's ozone layer, but the researchers think its overall impact is not large.
