The open source community infringes on 235 Microsoft licenses

The affirmation has been publicly released by Fortune Software Director, Horacio Gutierrez, on Fortune magazine.

It is unclear what copyright these are, but Gutierrez claims that the Linux operating system itself is compromised by 42 Microsoft intellectual property registrations. The corresponding number related to Linux GUI (graphical interface for users) is 65, OpenOffice 45 office toolset, e-mail program 15 and other free applications are 68.

In 2004, the Public Patent Foundation conducted research and reported that Linux "borrowed" a total of 283 licenses from various sources, of which 27 were from Microsoft.

Currently, more than half of Fortune's top 500 businesses use the Linux operating system in their data centers.
