Otzi tapes live about 5,300 years ago. His mummy was found in 1991 in a glacier in the Otztal Alps. After discovering the Otzi gang died of an arrow shot at the left shoulder, the archaeological museum of South Tyrol, Italy in 2014 asked Horn to investigate the reason for the murder of Otzi.

Horn and the investigation team interviewed archaeologists for many years studying Otzi tapes along with forensic experts, X-rays and anthropology. They also check the location where the tape was found.

The investigation results indicated that the Otzi tape could be eaten and resting before being shot. This means he is not aware of the threat before he dies. Otzi was shot unexpectedly from a distance and fell immediately. The attacker also has no other violent acts. This proves that he wants to avoid a direct clash and a remote attack option to kill the ice.

According to Phys, the perpetrator's motive for killing is not to steal by the Otzi tape's copper ax still at the scene. Therefore, Horn believes that the ice is likely to be killed by personal conflicts, the form of behavior still appearing in most murder cases today.
