Among the artifacts discovered around the mummy of the Otzi gang, experts paid special attention to the copper ax . The research results show that the Otzi ice ax is made from materials including copper, lead, silver, arsenic and some other chemical elements.

Experts also revealed that the copper material used to make this ax was exploited less than 100km from the location of the mummy Otzi iceberg.

Based on the research and analysis of isotopes, experts found that the closest site to the ore mine is southern Tuscana, about 550km from where the Otzi gang died.

Experts have not been able to explain whether the same ax was made in Tuscana or that the merchants brought the mined ore back and crafted the ax in the Alps.
