The person can 'hear' the image

American scientists have discovered people who can "hear" the images they see. This is a rare form of dual feeling - when the senses mingle together.

The first time people know about this is when a student says "hearing sounds" from the screensaver (screen saver program). This student heard the movement of dots on the computer screen. That situation occurred from childhood and it happened with many different animations.

The research team from the California Institute of Technology later found three more people with a similar situation.

These people perform better visual recognition tests than ordinary people.

Researchers were surprised to find that this form of dual sensation has not been previously recorded, and they want to test its popularity.

Dr. Julia Simner, a researcher on dual sensory syndrome at the University of Edinburgh, said some forms of this syndrome appear to be more common than others. For example, she often sees people who perceive numbers or characters as colors, or who see color when listening to music.
