The research team exposed 2,002 mothers of children from 12 months to 5 years old.

They found that 26% of mothers gave their babies a taste of chocolate before they were 9 months old and more than half of the mothers gave them a sweet taste when they were 12 months old. 61% of mothers let their children eat candy every day.

1 in 3 people admitted to using candy to 'lure' a picky child. 58% of mothers believe that their children have started craving sweet food when they were 3 years old.
