Auto Brewery Syndrome (ABS) makes many people miserable.

Later, researchers discovered an unusual fact: the presence of fungi in the digestive system of the man who turns carbohydrates into alcohol - a rare condition diagnosed as Auto Brewery Syndrome. (ABS) or "auto brewery" syndrome.

In people with this syndrome, fermented mushrooms or intestinal bacteria produce ethanol and can cause patients to show signs of being drunk. This condition, also known as intestinal fermentation syndrome, can occur in healthy people but is more common in patients with diabetes or obesity.
