The sun is 'stealing' the atmosphere
Scientists believe that Earth's atmosphere is inviolable thanks to the protection of the electromagnetic field. But a recent study shows that part of the atmosphere of the planet is losing by the solar wind.

A group of international experts conducts Mars's atmospheric monitoring, Venus with the European Space Agency's Mars Express spacecraft. They also used the US Aerospace Agency's Explorer ship to explore the Earth's atmosphere. The results of the study may surprise many people.
"Perhaps the physicists will be surprised to learn that our electromagnetic field is like a double agent, because it helps the earth to block the solar wind but also causes air loss to space" , space physics professor Chris Russell of the University of California (USA), a member of the research team, said.
Many astronomers believe that Mars once had a thick atmosphere like the earth. But because there is no electromagnetic field, the solar wind (in fact, the particles carrying the charge that the sun emits) has eroded its atmosphere.
Venus also does not have an electromagnetic field so its air is also disappearing at a greater speed than Mars.
'The amount of oxygen, hydrogen that the Earth has lost is much greater than the amount of oxygen and hydrogen that Venus has. We always think that humans receive protection from electromagnetic fields, but for the atmosphere it is not true , 'said Chris Russell, professor of space physics at the University of California (USA).
'The electromagnetic field functions like an energy collector, meaning it takes energy from the solar wind. But then the invisible armor plate of the earth brought the energy it had taken to the top floor of the atmosphere with funnel-shaped lines. That source of energy causes the atmosphere here to heat up and escape to space through the funnel-shaped lines. ' , Russell explained.
According to Russell, humans do not need to worry, because at the current rate of air loss, our atmosphere will survive until the sun turns into a giant red star and devours the earth (about 7.6 billion more years).
"At that time, the disappearance of the air is not worth arguing for," Russell commented.
