The taste of food is 'killer' for obese people

Eating a lot and being lazy is the leading culprit in obesity. However, the latest study by scientists at the University of Portsmouth (UK) shows that the taste of food is also one of the "killer" of obesity.

Compared to normal people, obese people are very sensitive to food tastes even when they are full. This has made obese people difficult to escape the temptation of food and have increased the frequency of eating.

Scientists conducted experiments for 64 subjects aged 18 to 49.

The test subjects were first asked to smell the flavorful food flavor. The scientists then continuously reduced the amount of flavor in the food to assess the sensitivity to the taste of food of the experimental subjects.

The final step of the scientists replacing the food with alcohol then proceeded with the same experiment to assess the sensitivity to the taste of the objects.

The results showed that compared to those with low body weight index (BMI), obese subjects found it difficult to smell the taste of alcohol, and the sensitivity of the nose to the taste of alcohol was relatively low.

However, when smelling food tastes, the sensitivity of the nose in obese subjects is higher than that of low-weight subjects.
