The transparent video control bar officially appeared on YouTube
YouTube recently added a new design to the video control bar on the web version, making the video transparent instead of covered by the black strip below.
YouTube launches a transparent video control bar
If you watch videos on YouTube today, you will probably find it a little different than usual in the control bar below the video. That's because YouTube recently officially released a new design for the control bar , applied to the YouTube web page version.
The control bar is no longer a black bar under the video, but becomes transparent, emerging on the video - although its control functions have not changed. This design makes the video smoother, as the image is no longer covered by the black strip of the old design. When you do not perform anything on the video for a few seconds, the control bar will automatically disappear. It only reappears when you drag the mouse pointer over the video.
This change not only applies to videos on YouTube pages, but also YouTube videos embedded in Internet websites and blogs.
In fact, YouTube has tested this feature since April 2015, however, at that time it only applied to a few users. The recent update of YouTube has spread the transparent control bar to users across the globe. Information about the new design is also confirmed by YouTube on its Twitter page.
