Of course those are just an illusion, shaped by the dimples of the Moon (flat plains formed from lava of ancient volcanic eruptions).

The moon does not glow like the Sun itself. The moonlight we see is just a reflection of sunlight shining on the moon. We can only see one side of the Moon.

This is because the Moon has just orbited itself, turning around the Earth. Time to rotate one round by the time of moving around the earth (27.3 days). So the Moon forever points in the direction of one face on Earth.

When the Moon completely faces the Sun, half toward Earth receives the Sun's light, so we see the full moon (moon). At that time because the Moon was fully illuminated, it was possible to see dents on the surface of the Moon.

Observing the dents on the Moon's surface, it was imagined to be a banyan tree and Cuoi, but there were only brown thick layers of dust.
