A study in the United States showed that people who claim to be "versatile" are the most inefficient people.

Many people are very proud of their 'versatility', which means they can do many things at the same time.

However, scientists from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City (USA) argue that the versatile people are actually the most inefficient workers.

That is the result of the study conducted on 310 students in Psychology.

The subjects were asked to take the test and fill in the questionnaire so that the scientists could assess the ability to take on multiple tasks at the same time in reality of the subject, self-assessment of ability my 'multipurpose' and the habit of using a mobile phone while driving.

Scientists also find out whether the subjects are addicted to technology, expressed through impulsiveness and the need to find feelings.

People who take on many jobs at the same time have illusions that they are better than ordinary people. In fact, they are no better than others, the Daily Mail quoted Professor David Strayer, a member of the research team.

Meanwhile, people who are really 'versatile' are less likely to take on many things at the same time. The reason is because they want to focus on the work they are doing.

Research has also shown that many people 'exaggerate' their ability to take on multiple jobs at the same time with about 70% of people thinking that they are 'more versatile' than many others.

Meanwhile, people who often use cell phones while driving are the least 'versatile' people.

The study was funded by the American Automobile Association's Traffic Safety Fund and published online on PLOS ONE.
