The vlog community currently has more than 7,000 pages

No longer satisfied with transmitting events via words or photos on personal websites, thousands of bloggers (blog builders) posted videos that were only a few seconds to a few minutes long and called each other " vlogger ".

Jay Dedman is a vlogger like that. He often carries with him a handheld camera to glean precious images for his Momentshowing page. Among them was a video about the 9/11 US bombing and romantic moments with blogger Ryanne Hodson. Most recently, the footage of the trip from New York to San Francisco.

" I don't need to say much. The images themselves will tell their own stories ," Dedman said.

Video blogs, also called vlogs or video podcasts, are being considered as the latest means of sharing information. This is even easier when people have access to high-speed Internet services and are equipped with essential equipment such as handheld cameras, camera phones, computers and free software services or Cheap.

The vlog community is also becoming more and more diverse. A mother in Texas (USA) regularly recorded her 5 and 7-year-old children grilling pizza, playing football and having fun with her grandparents. A Peace employee in Botswana posted a video about the daily life of Nata people. Hollywood actor Tom Green broadcast TomGreen.com with fun clips .

Amanda Congdon and Andrew Baron's Rocketboom page looks more like a television show than image logs. It distributed a 3-minute newsletter at 9 am from Monday to Friday and attracted about 350,000 followers each day. Rocketboom is even in the download category of TiVo and Akimbo signal decoders.

Baron said they spend about $ 25 per day to produce the program with cameras, laptops and always wonder "what's new tomorrow, how we have to write, film, edit and show . ".

But blog videos also have different characteristics from television shows. Vlog comes from the blog trend and becomes a means to express yourself and communicate with the community.

" Every event in our lives is very special, " Dedman, along with Ryanne Hodson, are two of the earliest vloggers, starting posting videos since 2004, commented. " Of course, they're not professional videos from Hollywood studios ."

After nearly two years of appearances, the number of vlogs has exploded from a few dozen to more than 7,000 sites. Next month, hundreds of vloggers around the world will be present in San Francisco (USA) to attend Vloggercon seminar.

Vlog is also attracting the attention of many venture capitalists and technology companies. Photobucket, a website dedicated to storing and sharing photos, began to allow people to post videos from a few weeks ago. After only a short time, Photobucket attracted an average of 30,000 videos a day and currently contains a total of about 350,000 short films.

" If a photo is worth thousands of words, then video is more than 1,000 photos, " said Sergio Monsalve, Photobucket's deputy director and former eBay manager.
