The world's largest radish, weighing 38.8 kg

A giant radish plant weighs 38.8 kg which has just been harvested in Sweden.

Ian Neale, a gardener in Sweden, broke the record for growing the world's largest radish when he harvested a beet that weighs 38.8kg.

With such impressive achievements, the man with 30 years of giant plant growing experience is hoping his name will be saved in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's largest radish grower.

Ian Neale's newly harvested radish weighs more than 1.6 kg in the old world record.

Mr. Neale's giant mustard, living in Newport, Gwent, is a Swedish radish. This radish variety has a white, creamy purple pod on its head. Inside the intestine is orange yellow and sweet, spicy.

Mr. Neale revealed, he began to love growing giant vegetables 30 years ago after taking a bet with his friends to see who could grow the largest onion.

He also planted a sugar beet weighing 23.5kg, a celery that broke the record with a weight of 23.6kg.

He still spends 70 hours a week to take care of his special garden and plans to retire, shifting to raising livestock after winning the prize thanks to the giant radish plant.
