There will be an IT data backup center

The Ministry of Posts and Telematics said it would build a national data backup center for information technology to ensure trouble prevention for national information systems and save costs.

This plan is part of a project to build national network security infrastructure under the national key program on information technology.

According to Mr. Hoang Quoc Lap, Director of the Department of Information Technology Application, the Ministry has completed the pre-feasibility phase of 6 projects under the National Key Program on Information Technology in the period of 2006-2010 and currently urgently conduct the feasibility study stage.

Projects in the program include building national information architecture; building national network security infrastructure; supporting market development and information technology products; building a specialized information network of the Government; building public Internet and bringing Internet to rural areas; training IT managers and experts.

It is expected that by June, the Ministry will complete the feasibility study phase of these 6 key projects.
