Titan Solara - Light unmanned aircraft like a motorbike
Operated by solar energy, Titan Solara version 50 weighs only 159kg and can fly continuously for 5 years without refueling.

At the 2013 self-propelled system exhibition in Washington, USA, Titan aerospace company officially introduced a new unmanned aircraft model named Solara . This is an exhibition organized by the International Association of Unmanned Systems in August every year.
The appearance is not too noisy but Solara has attracted a lot of interest from visitors to exhibit thanks to technology and high-quality signal transmission. Of course, Titan only brought the miniature version of Solara to the exhibition.
According to Titan, in 2014, they will launch two versions of Solara named 50 and 60. In particular, Solara 50 owns a body length of 15.5m, weight 159kg, wingspan 50m and load on 32kg. The larger Solara 60 with a wingspan of 60m and a load of 100kg.
Solara unmanned aircraft can reach speeds of about 104km / h and operating range of 4.5 million km. Solara's operating energy source is 3,000 solar panels mounted on the wings and tail of the aircraft. 3,000 panels can produce about 7kW of electricity during the day so Solara flies at a height of 20km, surpassing the clouds.
According to Titan, the price of a Solara is $ 2 million. After only 1 month of launch, there were 4 orders for Solara. In particular, there are 3 customers to buy Solara 50 and 1 customer choose Solara 60.
Temporarily, Titan has not disclosed the identity of the customers who ordered Solara. However, many predict, the first customers of Solara is the US Secret Service (CIA), Office of the US Reconnaissance (NRO) and Northeast Geophysical Association (NGA).
Titan insists that Solara can continue to operate for 5 years because the aircraft uses sunlight to energize. The panels will collect solar energy during the day and reserve for the night.
Since it was developed to circulate in certain areas, Solara has relatively suitable features. Typically, monitoring and monitoring assets, crops, weather, disaster areas or direct mapping.
In particular, Solara is capable of providing mobile waves to an area of about 16,800 km 2 . It can be said, Solara is a cheaper alternative to satellites while the function is no different.
