Top 6 biggest mysteries about the great king Tutankhamun of Egypt have been solved

After nearly a century of research and investigation, archaeologists have decoded 6 mysteries about Tutankhamun, the king famous for the curse of 'Egyptian mummies'.

In 1922, archaeologist Howard Carter found the tomb of King Tutankhamun while conducting excavations in the 'Valley of the Kings'. At 2:00 pm on February 17, 1923, Howard and his team began to explore the inside of the tomb. After a lot of investigation, scientists have found a solution to the secrets of the pharaoh's legend.

Curse of 'Egyptian mummies'

Legend has it that on the day Carter broke the lid of Tutankhamun's coffin, a cobra ate his pet canary.

There are many events that have raised concerns about the curse of the 'Egyptian mummy'.

Besides, Lord Carnarvon - who financed the excavation of the tomb also died only 6 weeks after the tomb was opened. These events raised concerns about the 'Egyptian mummy' curse.

However, scientists believe that the lord died of pneumonia. He is believed to have suffered from the disease since a car accident in 1901.

Eight other people who attended the excavation died within the next decade, all from common illnesses.

King's death

King Tut died under very mysterious circumstances. He died at the age of 19 in 1,323 BC. Excavations nearly 100 years ago uncovered a series of wounds that at the time were still unexplained.

Despite this, modern forensics have now determined the cause of death. Scientists believe he died in a carriage accident, and those responsible for the embalming of King Tut unfortunately created the remaining wounds.

Mysterious room

A legendary king, Tutankhamun was buried in a gilded mausoleum filled with artifacts and offerings.

It is rumored that he also had a small secret room connected to the main structure. Once again, newly applied technological advances have proved that this hypothesis is unfounded.

Egyptian scientists have been broadcasting radar around the king's resting place, noting that there are no rooms behind the walls.

The king's illness

Although in the past, archaeologists have succeeded in uncovering the surface of the pharaoh's complex chamber and coffin, they have not yet been able to study King Tut's body.

Advances in biology, especially DNA, have helped to solve this problem. In 2010, scientists discovered that he had suffered from malaria and a bone disorder.

King Tut .'s family

Tutankhamun is a notable historical figure, but it's almost entirely about his lavish mausoleum.

Historians are always eager to have a more in-depth look at his life as well as the king's parents.

His origins are still controversial, but archaeologists have more information than before. DNA analysis revealed problems with his body, leading to the theory that Tutankhamun's father and mother were likely cousins.

Who does King Tut worship?

The ancient Egyptians believed that the pharaohs were gods in human form. Even so, they still worshiped other gods, and Tutankhamun was no exception.

He worshiped two gods, namely Amun (the supreme god) and Aten (the sun disc), based on studies of this king's name.
