Tornadoes in the US, 4 people were killed
Massachusetts, USA, must declare a state of emergency after suffering tornadoes on June 1, leaving at least 4 people dead.

The first tornado occurred in Springfield, the third largest city in Massachusetts, at 16:30 local time. Nearly two hours later, at 18:20, the second whirlwind swept north of Springfield.

In addition to the 4 people killed after whirlwinds, about 40 others were injured in Springfield while another 250 were homeless. More than 1,000 national security personnel were dispatched to support disaster response and rescue work.
AFP quoted Deval Patrick Governor as saying the emergency was issued to deal with the effects of winds and bad weather conditions. Patrick also announced that he would mobilize all state resources to ensure the safety of the people.
Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency, Scott MacLeod, said: " The severity and intensity of the tornadoes we witnessed yesterday is unprecedented in Massachusetts . "
Bad weather and tornado created destroyed houses and caused widespread power outages in about 20 residential areas . People in Massachusetts are encouraged to evacuate centers. The US National Weather Center is trying to determine the intensity and severity of tornadoes across Massachusetts.
More than a week ago, a devastating tornado swept across the small city of Joplin, central Missouri, causing at least 134 people to die.
