A 38kg root has been honored as the "biggest" root of the year at a competition in northwestern China.
The contest aimed to find the largest tubers and taro that were held in Anhe town of Quanzhou district in the Zhuang-Guangxi autonomous district on November 25. This is the 7th year the competition is held.
Farmers in the region brought the competition of the largest tuber and tuber roots harvested in the year in the hope of "winning" the prize. And the title 'King From 2009' belongs to a root of 1.66m long and weighs 38kg.
Anhe is one of the most cultivated regions of taro and potato in China. This year, the total production of potato and taro here reached 300 thousand tons.
