Twins due to frozen sperm for 26 years
Frozen my sperm more than two decades ago, the Scottish musician and his wife were happy to welcome their twins by in vitro fertilization.
A Scottish musician brought his sperm frozen when he was 21 years old, before starting chemotherapy for cancer treatment because doctors warned that he would be infertile.
Sperm is kept in cold storage for 26 years 243 days. In 2010, his partner was fertilized in vitro. The good result is that they welcomed a baby girl and a boy born the following year. He was 47 at the time, and his partner was 37 years old.

Now at age 54, the man is officially recorded as a new world record. But by knowing that he could be anonymous in Guinness World Records, he did not publicly identify.
Even so, he agreed to share in the press, emphasizing that sperm can be frozen for a long time and then used to produce healthy babies as usual. He said: "For those who undergo chemotherapy, please keep hope."
Marco Gaudoin, Director of the GCRM medical clinic, the place where the musician and his wife said that theoretically, frozen sperm can be stored "indefinitely".

It is known that sperm must be frozen for at least 6 months before being used for treatment, to screen for infections.
