Two small spiders in China were discovered

A study published in the open journal Zookeys said Chinese scientists have recently found two microscopic spiders in the Southwest region of the country.

Indeed, these two spiders are microscopic because of their size of no more than 2 millimeters.

The Trogloneta yuensis spiders are only 1.01 millimeters long and the other species, Mysmenidae wawuensis , only 0.75 millimeters in size, has become one of the smallest known spiders.

The smallest spiders are now recorded as males of Patu digu a 0.37 millimeter long.

According to scientists from the Institute of Zoology at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, two species of Mysmena spiders include small, eight-eyed spiders, which are less studied.

They like humid environments such as leaves, moss mats and dark places like caves. With extremely small size and mysterious life, both spiders are difficult to find.

Spiders of Trogloneta yuensis and Mysmenidae wawuensis were found in panda sanctuaries in Sichuan and Chongqing. Scientists conjecture that these are characteristic organisms only in this region.
