Last February, UCAR received a $ 400,000 grant to propose a "detailed simulation study" to assess the impact of artificial mountain construction on weather conditions.

"Creating a mountain is not a simple thing. We are actively completing the comparative phase, including testing all heights, widths and locations (of mountains), while paying attention to local weather. " Mr. Bruintjes said.

Experts have not specified a specific location to build artificial mountains, but they are experimenting on various areas throughout the UAE.

"We are assessing the impact of each type of mountain, its height and the necessary slope to the weather," said scientist Bruintjes. He confirmed that UCAR experts will report on the first phase of the study of artificial mountains this summer.

According to Mr. Bruintjes, if the project is to build artificial mountains to increase the amount of rainwater to be approved, the second phase will be handed over to an engineering company and they will decide whether it can be realized or not.
