Unique hydroponic model of Vietnamese people in the US

After the BP oil spill, the Vietnamese fishermen group in New Orleans and the United States turned to developing aquaculture and hydroponic models with unique water tanks.

It is the initiative of Vietnamese-based fishermen in Veggi village. After they were unable to catch fish due to the oil spill, they switched to a 'new business' style to create high-end domestic products of fresh fish and food crops.

Green plants that grow well and keep fish effectively

Vietnamese fishermen at Veggi use water tanks, combining aquaculture with hydroponics. A bacterium is added to the tank and it is used to raise fish of high economic value such as minnows and carp.

These organisms have the ability to convert ammonia in the feces into nitrates. The seedlings are grown in water tanks so that they grow very strong. As the adult fish will be separated into lateral cells so that they do not eat the roots.

It is this system that helps fishermen produce more output, crops that provide clean vegetables and require less land and water than traditional methods. Up to now, Veggi village has sold 10,000kg of clean vegetable products, providing high quality ingredients for many luxury restaurants.
