Unknown things about giant fish 8m long

Using satellite tracking devices, a study published in PloS ONE recently revealed interesting things about this nearly 8 meter long fish.

>>>Sentences of giant stingrays

The team followed six rays off Mexico's Yukatan peninsula within 13 days. Like sharks and whales, giant stingrays have huge mouth cavities and water filters, which can swallow many plankton once. In particular, they can emit a kind of light ray within a radius of up to 200 miles. This is a very important trait to monitor and protect this precious animal.

The fish looks like a giant sea bat that has been listed on the list of vulnerable animals. According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, giant rays are currently being caught quite a lot for use in traditional Chinese medicine. Besides, most of their living areas are located on sea transport routes. So the risk of being hit on boats is huge.

Many people believe that giant rays are 'devil fish' because of their shape and size. In fact, they are harmless to humans. Giant rays have the highest ratio of brain and body to fish, than sharks. They reproduce very little, only 1.2 children per litter.

Thanks to satellite tracking technology, information on the movement of giant rays is recorded. Since then marine conservationists can detect in time the threats that affect their lives.
