Uranium mining is coming soon in Quang Nam
A good news and surprise for the mining industry in Vietnam when the work of the 11th discovered uranium mine in Quang Nam was completed and prepared to exploit for economic development.
At the seminar on environmental assessment strategy of planning, exploration, exploitation and processing of radioactive ores by Quang Nam Department of Industry and Trade and the Institute of Industrial Policy Strategy Research - Ministry of Industry and Trade yesterday, 26 / 8 in Quang Nam, scientists and leading experts officially announced 7 discovered uranium ore mines in Quang Nam. This is 7 out of 11 radioactive ore mines and spots discovered nationwide.
Nong Son Coal Mine, where reserves of high uranium ore are located.
According to official documents published at the workshop, radioactive ore resources (ie ore with uranium (U) and / or thorium) in Quang Nam have the best quality in Vietnam.
The location of these radioactive ore mines and sites is located in the low-lying areas of Nong Son and Nam Giang districts, including: U Pa Lua mine, U Pa Rong mine, U Khe Hoa mine - Khe Cao, U Dong Nam Ben Giang mine, U An Diem mine, coal mine (U) Nong Son, mine graphic (U) Tien An. In which, the mines of U Pa Lua and U Pa Rong are expected to complete exploration before 2015.
By 2016-2020, uranium ore will be built and exploited here with a capacity of 100-130 thousand tons of raw ore / year at each mine.
This ore volume will be processed by Vietnam on-site to meet the country's economic development requirements.
Quang Nam is currently completing procedures to submit to the government for permission to exploit and process.
