Use My Pictures as a Screensaver

My Pictures is one of the default storage folders for all digital image files on Windows XP. It can also be used as the most ideal image source for an operating system's screen saver. The following tips will help you exploit the aforementioned unique features.

First, copy all your favorite photos (the photos you want to appear in XP's screensaver) into the My Pictures folder (the default path is C: Documents and SettingsadminMy DocumentsMy Pictures ).

Next, from the desktop, click on the Start button, select Control Panel , double-click the Display applet , select the Screen Saver tab, select My Pictures Slideshow from the list in the Screen saver area, click On the Settings button, move the " How often should pictures change " slider to increase (Less) or reduce (More) the display duration of each image, move the " How big should pictures be? " slider to increase ( More) or reduce (Less) the display size of each photo.

If you want to use another folder that does not want to use My Pictures, then click the Browse button to set its path, check the Stretch small pictures option before the screen saver automatically stretches the pictures. Small images to make them fit into the size of the playback screen, click on the OK button, set the amount of time that the screen saver will be automatically activated from the moment the computer falls into the state idle (leave nothing to do) in the Wait area, click on the Preview button to preview the content of the screensaver, click on the Apply button and select OK to update any changes.
