Berryessa Reservoir is located in Monticello Dam.
Strong storms swept through California, the United States, causing Berryess reservoir water levels in Napa County to rise to nearly 12 meters in just over 50 days. This is the highest level in 11 years, leading to the phenomenon of water pouring into the giant circular spill named Glory Hole in the middle of the lake, RT reported on February 22.
Berryessa Reservoir is located in Monticello Dam which provides water for three California state cities. With a capacity of nearly two billion cubic meters of water, this reservoir becomes dry in the recent long drought in the region. Therefore, the Napa county government is extremely happy when the lake is full again and can use the spillway for the first time in many years.
