The sight of thousands of screws covering the beach was recorded by a resident near St. Petersburg, Florida, USA, MSN on November 13 reported. These are cerith snails , which are common in many parts of the world, mainly in the tropics.

Snail shell has elongated shape with pointed tail. Their sizes are varied with a body length of 3 - 150mm, depending on the species. Cerith snail is often found in sand, coral reefs or waters near the sea.

The cameraman recorded this image on 11/11 and commented that this is a very rare phenomenon."I grew up in Florida and spent most of my time at sea. I have never seen or heard anyone talk about such a scene," the cameraman said.
