The gynecologist Dr. David Cahill at St Michael's Hospital and the designated city undertook a difficult operation. Although he has performed hundreds of fetal surgeries, this is the first time Cahill performed an operation for the gorilla.
"This is one of the career achievements that I cannot forget in my life," Cahill said.
According to Independent, unnamed baby gorillas are heavier than a kilogram and are females. After the operation, the gorilla is weak and should be taken to the emergency room and taken care of by medical staff 24/7. Kera's gorilla is also cared for by the medical team and monitors her health closely to help her recover quickly.
