Two flocks of pepper whales appear in the port area of Ohiwa, Plenty Bay, from November 4. Rescue workers and people of the Maori community observed the whale signs drifting afterwards.

According to AFP, the Conservation Agency lifeguards float and save 21 whales. These animals previously swam and ran aground in deeper waters. However, after stranding, 36 other whales died. The cause of stranded whales is still unclear.
The case of shallow whale pepper occurs quite popular in New Zealand, especially from November last year to March next year. Researchers have yet to find out why they often swim ashore in large groups.
