Moon eclipse takes place in about 27 minutes, starting from 2:54 pm to 3:30 pm on April 26, Hanoi time. This phenomenon reaches maximum at about 3h08.

According to Dang Tuan Duy, HCMC amateur astronomical club (HAAC), this is a lunar eclipse with only a very small part (less than 2%) of the moon's surface entering the shadow created by the earth.

Viewers will observe that the full moon is obscured by a small area at the edge (because this part enters the southern edge of the shadow created by the earth in space) and part of the moon's surface will be darker than usual due to into the dark half created by the earth's shadow in space.

Mr. Duy said, with a small amount of surface obscured, most viewers will not see the surface of the moon turning red."Only when a full lunar eclipse occurs or when a part is large enough, the surface of the moon is obscured will the phenomenon happen," Duy explained.

Astronomical experts recommend that observers can use the naked eye without any assistive devices to view the eclipse.
