Vietnam is about to welcome the half-moon eclipse on February 11

The eclectic eclipse is about to take place around the world and Vietnamese people will have the opportunity to observe in the dawn of February 11.

The real moon is half dark on February 10 and 11 which is the first eclipse of the two lunar eclipses this year. This phenomenon can be observed in Europe, most of Asia, Africa and North America.

The eclipse is half dark when the Sun, Earth and Moon lie almost in line. The Earth stands between the Moon and the Sun, preventing sunlight from reaching the surface of the Moon as usual.

Now, from Earth, people will see a shadow covering the surface of the Moon, known as the midnight region . This phenomenon does not happen often because it can only be observed when the moon is full and when all three celestial bodies are aligned.

If the sky is clear, the observer can see a shadow covering the entire or part of the Moon and making it dim.

The eclipse of the dark half may be a bit difficult to observe and is often confused with the usual full moon because the shadowed part only fades a little more than the rest of the surface.

In Europe, Africa and West Asia, this event can be observed at night when the Moon is in the south of the sky. For those in the Americas, the best observation points are in the east.

In Vietnam , astronomers can observe this phenomenon from 5h34 to 6h26 on February 11. The true moon peaks at 6h23 when the dark half covers half of the Moon and ends when the Moon is under the horizon.

According to Mr. Dang Vu Tuan Son, chairman of the Vietnam Young Astronomical Society, this eclipse of the moon is not noticeable because the ability to observe in Vietnam is very low . shining.

Mr. Son said that the second lunar eclipse this year is the most interesting astronomical event because it can be fully observed anywhere in the territory of Vietnam. This partial eclipse will occur on the night of August 7, early morning and August 8.
