Vietnam - Netherlands cooperation on biodiversity

On March 14, 2007, the Ministry of Planning and Investment cooperated with the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Office to organize a workshop on cooperation on biodiversity, poverty and sustainable development in Vietnam in the 2007-2008 period. .

This cooperative activity harmonizes socio-economic development objectives, protects environmental resources with the development of biodiversity in the annual, 5-year and long-term plans of the whole country and at the same time. build biodiversity indicators at national, regional and local levels. The objective of this cooperation is to strengthen the capacity of stakeholders to implement the Strategic Orientation for Sustainable Development (Vietnam Agenda 21) that focuses on poverty and biodiversity. This is a common strategy, an action plan for Vietnam to achieve its sustainable development goals. Agenda 21 clearly identifies biodiversity protection as one of Vietnam's 19 priority development areas.
