Vietnam organized an international nuclear power exhibition

Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Trade will hold an international exhibition on nuclear power in Hanoi, to provide more information on the deployment of nuclear power in the world as well as in Vietnam.

The exhibition takes place in 3 days from October 25 - October 27, 2012 at the Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace. Besides the exhibition area of ​​Vietnam, there are also booths of nuclear power companies from France, Canada, Korea, USA, Russia, Japan and especially the first participation of Ninh Thuan province. .

Mr. Tran Chi Thanh, Director of Vietnam Atomic Energy Commission said: "The exhibition aims to provide more information for the public, leaders at all levels on the development of world nuclear power, security issues. Nuclear after the Fukushima accident, the preparation of deploying nuclear power projects in Vietnam and the capacity of the world nuclear power companies ".

Through the above event, policy makers, investors, project managers, enterprises and Vietnamese scientists have the opportunity to learn from experience in building nuclear power plants in Ninh Thuan and find seeking research and investment cooperation with foreign partners.

The booth of Vietnam will be arranged by units of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Electricity of Vietnam with the aim of providing information on research activities on nuclear technology and safety and research. materials and radioactive waste management for nuclear power plants, the situation of implementing Ninh Thuan electricity projects.

Foreign companies participating in the exhibition will focus on introducing advanced nuclear science and technology achievements, experience in implementing factory construction projects, support and private capacity. implementation consultancy of countries around the world.

During the exhibition, seminars on world nuclear power development after the Japanese Fukushima incident will take place, with issues related to nuclear power safety.

To ensure power demand for the country, Vietnam implemented a strategy to diversify energy sources, including nuclear power development. On November 25, 2009, Vietnam's National Assembly approved the policy of nuclear power investment in Ninh Thuan. In 2010, the Prime Minister approved the orientation of developing nuclear power by 2030.

The incident at the Fukushima Japan plant that happened in March 2011 has affected the policy of developing nuclear power in some countries. But Vietnam is still determined to make nuclear power, with the view of ensuring the highest safety and security, the project must have economic efficiency, comply with current regulations of Vietnamese law on construction investment. .
