Vietnam satellite hits the space station

Vietnam-built F-1 transports, small satellites, successfully assembled with the International Space Station (ISS) last night, after a week of flying in space.

After 6 days of launching into orbit, 21h40 on Hanoi time, HTV-3 transport vessel approached ISS. When the transport vessel is at a distance of 10m from the station, the assembly process begins. 19h20, the station's robotic arm grabbed the transport ship.

After the transport ship is connected, the F-1 will be transferred to the pressure vessel of a module on the station. In September, Japanese astronaut Akihiko Hoshide controlled the robotic arm, grabbed the launcher containing 5 satellites outward, facing the ground and dropping.

Since then, satellites "made in Vietnam" began to operate. From the ground control station located in Hanoi, the FSpace team will follow F-1, giving orders such as taking photos or collecting data.

The F-1 flew into space on July 21 from the Japanese Satellite Launch Center. The F-1 satellite has been manufactured by the FSpace team since 2008, measuring 10x10x10cm and weighing 1kg. The primary goal for this satellite is to "live" in space and signal the earth control station, capture the low-resolution (640x480) image of the earth and speed the data from the guard. fine reaches 1,200 bits / second.

The F-1 also carried a miniature Vietnamese flag, a commemorative badge of some organizations that helped implement the project and a memory card containing the names and messages of 7,529 people along with pictures of the country, Vietnamese people, some Vietnamese songs.
