Vietnam will have a Biodiversity Law
This law provides relevant industries, localities and communities with theoretical, scientific foundations and principles for determining the management, exploitation and use of environmental resources .
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (TN & MT) assesses that biodiversity in Vietnam is severely reduced due to the impact of environmental pollution and the unreasonable human treatment on resources. nature.
The birth of the Law on Biodiversity aims to provide relevant industries, localities and communities with the theoretical, scientific and principles of determining the behaviors of management, exploitation and use. environmental resources, towards sustainable development.
Currently, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment is preparing to draft a Plan for Developing Biodiversity Law. The content of this Law focuses on researching and implementing 7 tasks: Investigation, assessment and monitoring of biodiversity; planning biodiversity conservation and sustainable development; protect genetic resources of rare and precious wild flora and fauna; establishment of nature conservation zones; assigning and decentralizing biodiversity management responsibilities; benefit sharing in biodiversity protection and management; international cooperation and implementation of international conventions related to biodiversity.
It is expected that this Law will be submitted to the Government for approval in early 2007.
