Vietnam won 3 gold medals in Mathematical Olympiad

At home, the Vietnamese team has achieved the highest performance in recent decades, with 3 gold medals and 3 silver medals. Three " golden boys " are Do Xuan Bach, Pham Duy Tung and Pham Thanh Thai.

According to the newly announced results, Do Xuan Bach , 12th grade, Specialized Mathematics Division, University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University (31 points); Pham Duy Tung , 11th grade, Mathematics Division of University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University (30 points); Pham Thanh Thai , 12th grade specialized in Mathematics, Hai Duong High School (30 points).

Three students won silver medals: Nguyen Xuan Chuong, grade 12 specialized in Mathematics, Vinh Phuc specialized high school (28 points); Le Ngoc Son, 11th grade specializing in Mathematics, Bac Giang specialized high school (28 points); Dang Ngoc Thanh, 12th grade specialized in Mathematics, High School specialized in Quang Binh (22 points).

With this achievement, Vietnam ranked third in the whole group, after Russia and China. This is the best achievement of Vietnam delegation in recent decades. In 2006, Vietnam received 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.

This year, the topic is considered difficult. Candidates with the highest score are 37 points (maximum of 42 points), with 3 candidates achieving 36 points. Candidates achieved 29-42 points for gold medals; Silver medals determine between 21-28 points.
