Vietnamese citizens will be managed by electronic data

The Ministry of Public Security is implementing an electronic data management system for each citizen. This will be done through a network of information on people's identity cards, synchronously from central to local levels.

Currently, the construction of infrastructure and production techniques has gradually completed. The Ministry of Public Security hopes to establish a data collection management system, manage uniform identity cards, facilitate storage, exploitation and information processing.

In the near future, the identity card information will be managed by electronic system.

Writing additional personal information into new forms of identity cards such as ethnicity, blood group . is being researched by competent authorities. The size of the national emblem printed on it is also considered to match. In early 2007, the Ministry of Public Security invited the Ministry of Finance, the Government Office, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and many experts to comment on the current management of identity cards.

In 2004, the Prime Minister agreed to assign the Ministry of Public Security to build new projects and manage identity cards. However, the progress of this implementation is still slow. Until now, the production and management process has not changed much.

ID card is still done manually so it is easy to peel and fade. Production technology is simple, so it has been counterfeited quite a lot over time. Information collected manually, distributed storage should not meet the management requirements.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, since 1976 local police issued more than 60 million identity cards. This type of ID has basically met the requirements of citizens in transactions and travel, making an important contribution to social management.
