Prof. Ngo Bao Chau said, a bright spot in the current Vietnamese-French mathematical cooperation is the establishment of the International Combined Laboratory (LIA) depending on the French Center for Scientific Research (CNRS). This laboratory, operating with French funding, will maintain and build more collaborative and research-intensive mathematical research and training activities. The Institute for Advanced Studies in Mathematics will work closely with the Laboratory to develop international cooperation in these tasks.

According to GS. Ngo Bao Chau, besides maintaining the traditional research directions in Vietnam, organized research groups with new directions, attracting the participation of many foreign and Vietnamese scientists working abroad. Collaborating with scientists working in Vietnam, is the model that the Advanced Research Institute of Mathematics chose to enhance the position of Vietnamese mathematics.
