Vietnam-Germany signed a letter of intent on science and technology

In the afternoon of December 7, at the Headquarters of the Federal Republic of Germany Ministry of Economy and Technology, under the witness of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Duc Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, Deputy Minister Tran Viet Thanh signed with German partners the intention. on bilateral cooperation in research, development and innovation between the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the Ministry of Science and Technology of Germany.

The letter of intent underscores the framework of its national programs, Germany and Vietnam that will support collaborative research and development projects between Vietnamese and German enterprises and research institutions with the aim of raising high technological capacity, technological innovation of enterprises; thereby enhancing competitiveness, encouraging knowledge exchange, creating long-term cooperative relationships and enhancing business opportunities for businesses.

The intention of the letter will provide a roadmap to review and implement Vietnamese and German research and development projects and agree on funding support. The application and implementation process of enterprises and research facilities in Vietnam and Germany will be simplified through a common coordination mechanism. The project proposals will be evaluated independently according to the regulations of each country in the latest time .

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister Tran Viet Thanh believed that the cooperation program between the two ministries would be successful, contributing to create a new impetus, a new wave of cooperation between the two countries' business community; thereby increasing the content of knowledge, technology content, creating more value for businesses, for the economy and the prosperity of the two countries.

The German representative affirmed the good relationship and cooperation potential between the two countries in the field of science and technology, especially emphasizing the results of the September 2012 visit to Vietnam by the Minister of Science and Technology Philipp Roesler, believing that the intention will provide support for research institutes and businesses, promote cooperation between the two countries in the field of science and technology.

The above letter of intent was signed during the business trip, working in Germany from 3-8 December of the delegation of the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam led by Deputy Minister Tran Viet Thanh, in order to strengthen the relationship. Available cooperation between the two countries in the field of science, technology and innovation.

Previously, the delegation had working sessions in the city of Frankfurt, visited and worked with a number of German enterprises of the project supported in the framework of the Technology Innovation Program for small and medium enterprises of Germany.
