The 36-minute journey of Ariane 5 and 2 satellites ended successfully at 5h49 after Vinasat-2 was removed from the rocket and accurately entered the 131.8-degree Eastern position on a geostationary orbit. Previously, with the support of two sub-missiles, Ariane 5 had left the ground at 5:13.

Within 30 seconds, two sub-missiles burned about 200 tons of fuel at a temperature of 3,000 degrees Celsius to bring the two satellites out of the Earth's surface attraction. After completing the mission, two sub-missiles separated from the main section helped lighten the Ariane 5 by three-quarters of the weight. The rocket moved west and flew faster into orbit.

At 5:16, the Ariane rocket pierced the earth's atmosphere and crossed the Atlantic in about 20 minutes. On the West African coast, Ariane successfully completed the first phase of the launch process by separating JCSAT-13. The rocket continues its journey to bring Vinasat 2 to its intended location.

At 5:49, Vinasat-2 is separated from the protective shell and the journey to the static orbit of 131.8 degrees East. The satellite launch was officially declared successful in the joy of ArianeSpace staff at Kourou as well as a representative of the Vietnamese and Japanese delegation in Guyana.

Directly monitoring via videoconference at the Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that the successful launch of Vinasat-2 is an important event, marking a big step of Vietnam's telecommunications industry."This is an important political, economic and social project, affirming Vietnam's national sovereignty over space , " the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister said that this is an important first step but there is still a lot of work to do to develop Vietnam's telecommunication system. Therefore, the head of the Government asked VNPT to bring Vinasat-2 into operation soon and effectively, together with Vinasat-1 to bring information to deep-lying, remote and island areas, ensuring national security .

Previously, Vinasat-2 was deployed for more than 2 years, from October 2009. This is the second satellite of Vietnam, with a total budget of about 260-280 million USD, produced on the A2100 platform, the design life is 15 years. With 30 36MHz transponders on Ku band, Vinasat-2 is capable of covering Southeast Asia and some neighboring countries.

Vinasat-2 and Vinasat-1 successfully launched into orbit on April 19, creating a system of satellites with capacity for capacity and risk, contributing to increasing safety and stability. in the process of providing capacity to customers. Both projects are invested by Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPT), cooperating with Lockheed Martin (USA) to deploy.

Vinassat-2 was launched from Kourou in Guyana (South America). Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan and Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Bac Son witnessed the launch of Vinasat-2 via videoconference at the Vietnamese bridgehead.
