Virtual physics library

A virtual library of vivid physics experiments, helping students quickly and accurately understand the knowledge in the class was designed by two high school teachers in Da Nang city.

They are teachers Nguyen Thanh Le and Nguyen Viet Thong, long-term physics teachers of Nguyen Trai High School, Hoa Khanh, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City. The solution of the virtual library has won the B Prize (without prize A) in the 2008-2009 2009 Department of Education Initiative in the Initiative of the Danang Department of Education and Training. Da Nang city.

Gone to write software

Physics, chemistry and biology teachers often face many difficulties in communicating knowledge to students. Meanwhile, the system of experimental instruments of most high schools is lacking; Some experiments are difficult to implement in the current environment and conditions.

'In order for students to believe and understand theory, it is necessary to experiment. The problem is that it is not always easy to experiment and describe with a model, such as the theory of magnetic fields, currents, sound waves . ' , Father Le said. Stemming from the fact of teaching, to help students absorb the lesson well, the teachers began to build virtual physics experiments. Two teachers buy informatics books, learn online how to create software, find physical test materials in accordance with available academic programs from libraries, schools and research centers around the world.

With many months of hard work, the two teachers can write flash files (file types that give good image quality, sound and create many effects, but are lightweight, suitable for uploading videos and animations to websites. ). Since then, virtual experiments have gradually formed, the video system of physics experiments has been collected more and more richly.

Since 2007 - 2008, this initiative has been applied to teaching and learning at Nguyen Trai High School, bringing practical results, physical learning results in clearly visible blocks.

Intuitive and lively teaching tools

The software includes some main contents: electronic lectures; virtual experiments; Lesson Plan; exercise; video clip. All gathered into a 'Virtual Physics Library'. As a result, the lessons are interesting, students' attention, they deeply understand the root of the problem, so learning the theory is no longer difficult.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Thong said: 'Software like this supports teachers well. In confusing lessons, teachers only need to open the projector and perform virtual experiments, some experiments also have detailed and specific video images so they will understand the lesson immediately '.

According to the evaluation of the judging committee of the Innovation Initiative, innovations like this not only increase the quality of teaching periods, the software also contributes to improving the self-study and self-training spirit of teachers. , especially in the field of informatics.
