The Minister proposed that IAEA continue to support Vietnam in building a legal framework for nuclear power safety, approving the design and licensing of nuclear power plants; assisting in the preparation and implementation of the Master Plan on building nuclear safety infrastructure; support capacity building for regulatory agencies, especially Vietnam's Nuclear Regulatory Agency according to international standards.

Professor Yukiya Amano affirmed that one of the IAEA's highest priorities since the nuclear power incident in Japan last March is the highest level of security and nuclear security.

IAEA is responsible for helping member countries including Vietnam, developing the field of nuclear application at the safest level. The IAEA always considers Vietnam to be a central country in bilateral relations with its member states.

Professor Yukiya Amano also appreciated Vietnam's initial success in implementing the Nuclear Power Development Program.

IAEA Director General agreed with Vietnam's proposal to organize some more conferences and conferences on nuclear issues.
