According to the Asian Computing Industry Association - Oceania (ASOCIO), Vietnam is one of 25 attractive countries in the field of software outsourcing in the world.
In markets such as the US, Hungary, and especially Japan, the prestige of Vietnamese software enterprises is increasingly improved, second only to Chinese, Indian and Korean enterprises. Currently, about 80-90% of revenue of many Vietnamese software enterprises is mainly due to export.
Currently, Vietnam has more than 600 enterprises operating in software outsourcing with about 15,000 engineers and technicians. Many Vietnamese enterprises have been granted international certificates for CMM software development, especially two businesses, FPT and PSV, have achieved the highest CMM certificate - CMM 5.
According to Dr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of Vietnam Software Enterprises Association (VINASA), although the industry is still quite young, in the past 3 years, Vietnam software industry has made remarkable progress. with an average growth rate of 30-45%. In 2004, the total value of software outsourced by VN reached US $ 170 million, of which US $ 45 million was exported.
