VNPT is about to deploy a wide area of ​​NGN network

Since early 2006, Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT) will deploy a large-scale new-generation telecommunication technology network of the NGN world.

NGN's new generation technology network features integration of various types of services on the IP protocol, contributing to reducing costs and simplifying the management and operation of telecommunications activities. Instead of many switchboards operating many types of services, there will be a general operator operating all types of telecommunications services.

VNPT has deployed NGN technology on backbone network since 2003. According to the plan, from early 2006 VNPT will deploy NGN to switchboards and local transmission system and it is expected that from 2008 to 2010 will be converted completely to NGN network.

According to the initial calculation of VNPT, although the initial cost is quite expensive, the conversion to NGN will make operating costs decrease sharply and especially help the telecommunications infrastructure system of Vietnam in accordance with the development of world telecommunications technology in the future.

Vietnam is currently one of the few countries in the region that has deployed this new technology network.
