There is no information on human and material damage in the eruption. This volcano is 145 km northwest of Tokyo and has a sparsely populated population. The rocks that blew off when the erupting volcano erupted earlier were found about 1 km from the mountain.

People living within a 4 km radius from the half-mountain receive a maximum vigilance. Meanwhile, ash is falling into the surrounding area and some places in Tokyo. However, the eruption lava is not observed. In the nearby small city of Karuizawa, ash affected the vision on the road.

The 2,568-meter Asama volcano has a snow-covered peak all year round. The last time this large fire was active was September 2004, when it sprayed ashes and rock as far as 200 km. A few centuries earlier, in 1783 the volcanic Asama volcanic activity caused great damage and killed about 1,500 people.

Japan has 108 active volcanoes scattered across the islands and this is one of the most earthquake-prone countries in the world.
