According to the Galapagos National Park, volcanic activity does not seriously affect humans."Wolf volcano is not near residential areas, so it does not affect people, but only dangerous amounts of pink iguanas in the world," wrote the national park management on Twitter.
RT said the volcanic eruption could threaten 500 Galapagos pink iguanas , critically endangered according to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Melting lava can also affect marine life if it rises to the sea.
Wolf is the highest point on Ecuador's Galapagos Islands , with a height of 1.7 km. The archipelago is located in the southern part of the Pacific Ocean, about 1,000 km from the Ecuadorian coast.
